Astrid Kaminski works in the fields of publishing, art, and crafts from Berlin, Brussels, and Athens. Her artistic and journalistic interests converge in book, discussion, and exhibition formats. Sociopolitical issues as well as learning and research in collaboration with "nature" are important components.

Two major themes are central to her thinking:
An exploration of the ecological, cultural-historical, and ontological significance of the sea

and the politics and practice of friendship, its continuation in hospitality and its impact on different, including non-human, forms of life.

 

Her journalistic texts appear in numerous renowned newspapers. From 2009 to 2020, she was one of the most active journalistic voices in the field of dance and performance (in German-speaking countries and beyond), to which she has since devoted herself as an essayist, dramaturgist, and curator.
